JULY 4TH PARADE REGISTRATION

Please note: Parade entry is limited and will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
General Parade Rules – For All Participants, Spectators, and Volunteers
- All animals must remain on a leash and under the owner’s control at all times. Owners are responsible for immediately cleaning up pet waste during and/or after the parade.
- Lewd, abusive, or inappropriate language or behavior is strictly prohibited.
- No alcoholic beverages of any kind are permitted.
- No smoking, vaping, or tobacco use of any kind.
- No weapons of any kind are permitted, including toy weapons.
- No one is permitted to step into or obstruct the parade route. If candy or personal items are dropped in the roadway, they must not be retrieved until the parade has concluded.
- In the event of severe inclement weather, the AHPOA General Manager will decide whether to cancel the parade by 8:00 a.m. on July 4th.

- The cancellation will be posted on the homepage of the Aquia Harbour website under the July 4th Events section, as well as on the publicly viewable Aquia Harbour Property Owners Facebook page.
- The Community Events Committee (CEC) will also notify registrants via the email provided on their form, once notified by the General Manager.
Parade Participation Rules
- All entries, including floats, vehicles, and walkers, must follow a patriotic or red, white, and blue theme.
- All entries must maintain forward motion at all times. Motorized vehicles may not drive directly at or toward spectators. Parade officials’ instructions must be followed at all times.
- There is no minimum age to participate. However, participants under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult (18+) at all times.
- Helmets and/or appropriate protective gear are required for participants on bicycles, motorcycles, scooters, skateboards, etc.
- Any unit removed from the parade route may not re-enter.
- All motor vehicles must drive slowly and keep front windows rolled down until parked.
- No motor vehicles are permitted in the stables driveway.
- Giveaways, including candy, trinkets, and flags, must be handed directly to spectators—they may not be thrown from vehicles.
- Maintain one car length between your group and the group in front of you at all times.
- This event is intended to be family-friendly and for entertainment purposes only. It is not a platform for political or social messages. The AHPOA and the Community Events Committee reserve the right to reject any entry deemed inappropriate or not in alignment with the established theme.
- Once approved, entries may not be changed without prior approval from the committee (e.g., submitting an entry as walkers but showing up with a float).

By submitting this registration form, participants, spectators, families, and guests agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Aquia Harbour Property Owners Association, the Community Events Committee, and all of their employees, agents, and officers from any liability, claims, or damages arising from participation in the AHPOA July 4th Independence Day Parade and related activities.
