Regional Landfill

The Rappahannock Regional Solid Waste Management Board (R-Board) is a joint venture of the governments of Stafford and Fredericksburg. The R-Board operates and maintains the regional landfill and recycling drop-off facility for the use of the citizens of Stafford and Fredericksburg. The R-Board also sponsors several special programs and workshops throughout the year for the benefit of Stafford and Fredericksburg residents. Bring your recyclable materials to the regional landfill.

Directions:
From the North – Go south on Jefferson Davis Highway (U. S. Route 1). Turn left on Eskimo Hill Road (SR-628) (about two miles south of the Courthouse). Follow Eskimo Hill Road to the left. Turn left at 489 Eskimo Hill Road. Residents must use the second entrance. Follow the signs. From the South – Go north on Jefferson Davis Highway. Turn right on Eskimo Hill Road, follow Eskimo Hill Road to the left. Turn left at 489 Eskimo Hill Road. Residents must use the second entrance. Follow the signs.

Recycling Center Drop-Off Centers

Residents can take their recyclable materials to sites that located throughout Stafford. Accepted items include co-mingled plastics (grades #1-#7); clear, green, and brown glass; aluminum cans and foil; steel/tin cans; and mixed paper.

Located off Route 17 on Stafford Lakes Pkwy behind GEICO complex.

Located in the student parking lot at North Stafford High School at 839 Garrisonville Rd.

Located at Kaz’s Automotive Service Center at 700 Garrisonville Rd.

Located at Earl’s True Value Hardware at 101 White Oak Rd.
 


Abandoned Vehicles

Stafford will remove inoperable or junk vehicles free of charge with the owner's consent. Call the Department of Code Administration at (540) 658-8650. Voluntary removal of junk vehicles that are an eyesore or nuisance to the County is encouraged.

If a vehicle has been left on your property or on public property, call the Sheriff's Office at (540) 658-4450 so that it can be determined if the vehicle has been stolen or abandoned by the owner.
