"The Bridge Club"

TUESDAY BRIDGE

One of the very early groups formed was the Tuesday Bridge Group. It began at least 30 years ago and has met continuously since its formation. The first table of four was organized with Erma Demboski, Kay Patterson, Sherry Blair and Evie Irwin.  Other early members were Madonna Haworth and Joan Howell. Erma Demboski will be 100 years old on December 29, 2006, lives in Columbus Ohio and still plays bridge.  Kay Patterson and Joan Howell are still active in the group.  Joan Howell will be 90 in January 2007 and rarely misses Tuesday Bridge.

The group met at the Harbour Inn (when it was called the Yacht Club); met for a period of time at Park Ridge during the transition from the old Country Club to the new facility. They have consistently had three to six tables each week.  Many who play with the group today have been playing since the 70’s.
