The Aquia Harbour Women’s Club was formed by a small group of women in 1975 as a way to meet and socialize with other women in a new subdivision located in an area of Stafford County which was scarcely developed. Now over thirty years later Aquia Harbour is a community of over 2300 homes, outside our gate we have numerous shopping and dining choices, and the Aquia Harbour Women’s Club boasts a membership of over thirty women of various ages, interests and backgrounds. Although times may have changed our club’s vision and mission have not changed.
The Aquia Harbour Women’s Club (AHWC) is a community service organization with an emphasis on helping those in our own backyard. The Sharing Wreath, Adopt a Classroom and Annual Scholarship Award are just a few examples of the work we do to benefit our Stafford County neighbors. The Christmas Tree Lighting and Easter Egg Hunt, which are both sponsored by the AHWC, are two annual Aquia Harbour community highlights. We host a variety of themed meetings such as a Halloween Costume Party, Pajama Party, Bunco and a Cinco de Mayo Fiesta. As you can tell we truly have fun while embracing our community.
Our meetings are held the second Tuesday night of each month (September thru June) at 7:15 PM. We are always looking for new ladies to enhance our club, so if you are not a current member please make plans to join us in September 2007.
