We have a beautifully developed and maintained nine-hole golf course with alternate tees creating the back nine. This challenging and interesting round of golf is open to members and guests for a reasonable fee. There's a breathtaking view of the 18th fairway from the Country Club's back patio, and we offer a Pro Shop and Practice Facilities. Golf carts are available to rent or you may rent storage space at the Country Club to store your own.

MEMBER-GUEST TOURNAMENT NEWS
The annual AHGA Member-Guest Tournament will be held this year on June 29-30 and July 1. This year the Tournament will be dedicated to the victims of the Virginia Tech shootings that took place on April 16, 2007. Mr. Mike Foxwell, an Aquia Harbour resident and owner of Stafford Marine has donated a boat as a prize for a hole-in-one. All of the players in the tournament who want to participate in attempting to make a hole-in-one will make a donation prior to their shot. All proceeds from this activity will be donated to the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund which was specifically established by the university for assistance to victims and families, grief counseling, memorials, communication expenses and comfort expenses. There will be a short dedication ceremony on Friday, June 29 at the Country Club beginning at 8:00 am. Speakers will include Mr. Jeff Howard, a former resident of Aquia Harbour, successful businessman and a Hokie Alumni, Mr. Shawn Brown a resident of Aquia Harbour and a current student at VT and Mr. David Humphrey, an Aquia Harbour Resident and President of the Aquia Harbour Board of Directors. All Aquia Harbour residents, especially Hokie Alumni, are invited to attend the dedication ceremony.
The Junior Clinic began on June 22, 2006 under the instruction of Barry Walls, assisted by Jason Barg and Aaron Holland. This is a six week program for children between the ages of 8 through 14 and ends the sixth week with a mini-tournament for the participants. Mr Walls has provided instruction for the Junior's Clinic as well as private lessons for the past five years but it appears this will be his last year here at Aquia Harbour. We will miss him and wish him the best in his new ventures next year.
There will be a Junior Tournament in August but the dates have not been confirmed with the AHGA and the Clubhouse Restaurant so more news will be forthcoming on that. It will be held on a Saturday morning and the AHGA has volunteered to assist by accompanying each group to verify scoring and answer questions concerning rule compliance. Watch for info on the front board.
The new seed should be going down in the fairways tomorrow. Once the seed is down we cannot mow for several weeks until it has germinated and regular watering will be critical during this process. Please excuse the shaggy look and the inconvenience of regular watering until the seed has taken hold. Hopefully it will be worth the sacrifice in the end.
We had 33 players for the Red, White and Blue Tournament which was enjoyed by all in spite of the heat. The next tournament scheduled is the Bruce Brown Memorial Member-Member Tournament on August 12th and 13th. There will be a sign-up sheet posted in the Pro Shop.
