A prime example is the Annual Easter Egg Hunt, with three age categories and helpers assigned to assist children in finding the eggs; another is the Christmas Tree Lighting at the Business Office, complete with caroling and hot chocolate

The Aquia Harbour Property Owner's Association (AHPOA), Inc., was organized as a Virginia Non-Stock Corporation in 1975 pursuant to the provisions of the Property Owners Act, Section 55-508 et seq.; the Virginia Subdivided Land Sales Act, Section 55-350, et seq.; and the Virginia Non-Stock Corporation Act Section 13.1-801, et seq. The Association is tax exempt under the provisions of 501(c) (4) Tax Exempt NonProfit/Non-Charitable for promotion of social welfare of members. Membership in the Association is mandatory for all lot owners.

The Association is governed by a volunteer seven member Board of Directors. New members are elected yearly by the Membership at the annual meeting in October for three year terms. A professional management staff administers the daily operations of the Association.

The Association has Restrictions and Covenants, By-Laws, Construction Procedures and General Rules which govern the conduct and appearance of the Association, membership and property.

There are Citizen Advisory Committees for topical areas, and Operating Committees which deal with Architectural and Legal Compliance issues.
