From Director Reinboldt 05/02
Summer is approaching quickly and I am looking forward to all the activities that summer brings. I am especially looking forward to the 4th of July parade. It will start at the Harbour Inn Pool (by the Marina) and go to the Lions Park. We are looking forward to participation by a great many people. Please read Tina Klauser’s article about specifics.
The highlight will be all the children on their decorated bikes but I also look forward to all the residents who have classic cars, motorcycles, golf carts or anything that would be fun.
I was asked recently why some people use a picture with the articles that they write. I can’t speak to others published in this forum, I chose to, so that I would be more recognizable and approachable. If you see me out and about please say hello and let’s talk about whatever is on your mind.
Investments:
Recently the board decided to alter are investment package. Because of this change a rumor was circulated accusing the Board of carelessly managing Harbour funds. Rest assured that this is not true. We recognize our fiduciary responsibilities and fully respect the guidelines we must work within.
Beautification:
In my previous articles I discussed the general condition of some of our homes in the Harbour. I have received more feedback from that article than any other. (although security is a close second). I asked for feedback in regard to how aggressive we should enforce our Restrictions & Covenants. Of the 22 emails, 1 said we should not be so snobby and simply leave people alone. All the others would support evenhanded enforcement. Some even wished we had more enforcement capabilities. How we utilize our CVO and enforce the rules will be a conversation at our next Board meting on May 28th at the Country Club. While I am on the topic of beautification, please remember that the Wednesday trash pickup is for Leaves (bagged), tree limbs (tied & bundled in 4 ft lengths). Although the trash company has been pretty lenient, I have noticed a great deal of ‘Stuff” in front of homes for extended periods of time because of the ignored guidelines. Specific rules are available at the Harbour office.
Security:
I have mentioned in earlier articles that the Harbour was being “encroached upon” by outside construction. This is painfully apparent in section one. We are currently working with the county and builder to try to defray some of the costs of fencing. We are also getting information regarding the costs, long & short term, of fencing. Style and security of fencing will also be reviewed. For those of you not living near the construction, take a look at what your neighbors are enduring. For those of you who live near the construction, you are a top priority.
I am considering a “Ride Along” program for our police and a “Stand Along” program for the Guard Gate. I believe that our security personnel are some of the most unappreciated employees the Harbour has. What do you think?
The Clubhouse Restaurant:
I am very pleased to report that George and Robin White are getting rave reviews. I for one was very pleased with the Smoked Salmon and Capers from the Mother’s day buffet. I understand that the Service organizations within the Harbour are very pleased with the fare and service as well. Pleas try it out yourself. I would enjoy the feedback.
Please e mail me at john@reinboldt.com with any feedback or questions you have. I respond to all emails. So if you don’t here back within two days maybe I didn’t get it. So send it again
