First I would like to thank all those who have taken the time to read and reply to my comments. Your input is very valuable.  Please keep them coming.  My email address is john@reinboldt.com

Take a look at our web page. http://www.aquiaharbour.org/index.html , Kevin Henry has been working on upgrading the page. In particular, we have updated the Harbour Map to reflect the walking trails, the Bridle Path, and completed the list of parks.

Walking Paths

One of my goals has been to increase the amount of trails and to connect those trails, especially around the more dangerous and heavily traveled roads.  Aquia Drive by Aquia Park is one (of many) of those areas. There is a rudimentary trail, which picks up across the street from Aquia Park that will get attention first.  Chuck Halt (our General Manager) will be working with our grounds crew to dramatically improve that trail. This will offer a direct path from the Country Club to Aquia Park and on to the Stables. Stage two will be to improve the trail from the Country Club to Harpoon Drive, which also connects to Admiral Drive. Take a look at the map for additional clarity.

Dredging

There have been a number of articles noting that we did get some dredging done. Unfortunately, a lot less than we had hoped. What may not have been stated clearly is that we WILL restart the dredging as soon as is legally possible, and that we will pay for only the amount of spoils that was withdrawn to date. Regarding additional permits.  We do not need additional permits to complete our current project. We are now dredging under the Corps of Engineers Permit. We intend to obtain additional long term, renewable permits. We need to be more aggressive so that we don’t fall behind again.

Restaurant Management

We have hired a new management team. George and Robin White. WELCOME ABOARD !!!. George and Robin are very familiar with the Harbour, and come highly recommended. I am confident that they will be a great success.  Stay tuned for more information.

Volunteers needed!!

Strong committees are the foundation of a vibrant community. We have nine committees that dramatically effect how we do things in the Harbour. They are:

Architectural Control Committee, Beautification Committee, Bylaws Committee, Community Recreation Committee, Finance Committee, Golf Committee, Legal Compliance Committee, Public Safety Committee, Water Resources Committee.

Call the Harbour office at 659-3050 or stop by and sign up.

When you are a volunteer, you are part of the solution!
