of the AHPOA Board of Directors
May regular meeting - May 26, 2005

  •   Open Thirty.  Subjects included the availability of board packets to residents, bingo, proposed bylaw amendments, making amenities more open to use by residents, a stable issue, contiguous lots and the surcharge for paying the dues quarterly.
     
  • Directors Comments.  Thanks were given to all those who had helped produce the recent issue of the AHPOA's quarterly newsletter.  A request for volunteers, which was in the newsletter, was highlighted. 
  •   Committee Reports.  The marina bathrooms are now unlocked during marina operating hours.  The Marina Committee was asked to review the possibility of having rental boats.
  • Treasurer's Report.  A verbal overview was given.  The next quarterly newsletter will contain a more detailed breakdown of the budget by amenity and the information will be posted on the AHPOA website.
  • General Manager's Report.
    • Speeding.  Excessive speeding has become a real problem on Richmond Drive.  The police will be issuing tickets.
    • Briar Patch Park.  The maintenance staff were working on repairing the sprinkler system.
    •   Marina Fuel System.  The association will be doing some preparatory work to help keep down the cost of replacing the system.
    •   Dredging PermitA completed application was expected shortly.
    •   AuditA draft audit was expected shortly.
    • Sale of Police Car.  Sealed bids for the car will be accepted through mid June.
    • Pools.  A conceptual drawing of the renovated Harbour Inn pool is posted on a wall in the business office.  Engineering plans are being drawn up.  The Harbour Inn pool concession stand will be run by the same group as last summer.
  •   Old Business
    • Free Rounds of Golf.   It was agreed that instead of offering free rounds of golf to property owners on payment of their dues, to include a coupon for one free round in the disclosure packet issued to new residents.
  • New Business
    • Committee ReappointmentsThe FY06 committees were reappointed.
    • Lions Park MaintenanceSome ruts had been repaired.  A fence to stop vehicles from driving on the grass is still needed.
    • Parks and Recreation.  The work on the new shelter house at Rudolph Park took place in FY06.  The allocated funds were in FY05.  It was agreed to roll the funds over in to FY06.
    • Nominating Committee ProceduresThe procedures for nominations for the AHPOA annual election were submitted.
  •   Executive Session
    After coming out of executive session the Board denied a payment plan request, accepted the attorney?s recommendation to initiate foreclosure on four properties and two committee appointments were made.
